A Time For Healing: There Is More To It (Part 7)
Can you believe it, 2020 is over and we are now in the year 2021? Most will say 2020 was a challenging and a very difficult year, and I totally agree with them. It was a hard year. But just because the date has changed does not mean the problems of our past year have gone away. The pandemic is still active, division amongst people is prevalent, and many other issues are still occurring. People are hurting, they are suffering, losing hope and needing healing. But 2020 is not the first year when people felt the world was coming to an end and there was no hope. Imagine being alive in 1861 when the Civil War was just beginning. Brothers were fighting brothers, and in the end, over 620,000 people died. Or being alive in 1918 when the Spanish Flu was rampant and it is estimated that over 500 million people around the world were infected. Or in 1929 when the U.S. stock market crashed and millions of people became broke, homeless and were starving. Or how about 1941, when we entered a war, a World War, that in the end, over 75 million people died. Yes, 2020 was a tough and arduous year, and as we enter 2021 people are optimistic. But the optimism cannot be in the change of a date, but in the One where hope resides. I am excited about 2021, not because the zero became a one, but because I know it is a year God will move mightily, and the opportunity for healing will come. We are starting a new series titled – A Time for Healing.
